After the Pahalgam terror attack, tempers are high between India and Pakistan with the possibility of a military confrontation between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. Shutterstock

As the tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, reports are emerging that Pakistan launched the Fatah-II missile towards Delhi. Top government sources close to the matter told News18 that the missile was intercepted in Sirsa. If the report is confirmed, Pakistan will face a major loss in air assets.

According to the information obtained by News18, after the attack from the Pakistani end was initiated, the country faced technical issues with its air assets. Meanwhile, multiple Indian drones were reportedly hovering over Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Lahore and Peshawar.

The ongoing conflict escalated on Friday night and early hours of Saturday, when India had to carry out retaliatory strikes , hitting Islamabad, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, along with three Air Force bases, defence sources told News18. Multiple explosions were reported in different Pakistani cities - two in Rawalpindi and one each in Lahore and Islamabad.

According to the sources, the targeted airbases included Nur Khan in Rawalpindi, Rafiqi in Shorkot, and Murid in Chakwal. DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry confirmed the Indian strikes, saying that while India targeted Nur Khan and Rafiqi airbases, all Pakistani Air Force assets are safe.

Blackouts in India

On May 10, India imposed a complete blackout in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor district. According to ANI, both explosions and sirens were heard in the area. Meanwhile, blackouts were also imported in Jalandhar, Punjab, after drones were reportedly spotted in the region.

“We have imposed a blackout for some time, as a few drones have been reportedly sighted in Jalandhar. Forces are checking. Please be calm and follow the blackout protocol,” DC Jalandar said in a statement.

Pakistani drones were also spotted at 26 different locations across India, ranging from Baramullah, in the north, to Bhuj in the south, along with both the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday night.

The sources said that the drones are suspected to be armed and pose potential threats to both civilian and military targets. In one of the instances, a drone targeted Punjab’s Ferozpur, severely injuring members of a local family. The wounded received immediate medical assistance, and the area has been sanitised by security forces.
