Guwahati: The fragile peace in Assam’s Kokrajhar district got a jolt today after suspected militants shot dead one person and hacked another forcing the administration to clamp an indefinite curfew.
Not taking any chances this time around, the army was immediately called in on Wednesday to conduct flag march in the sensitive locations of the district.
“While the first incident took place during indefinite curfew in Kokrajhar, where suspected militants stabbed one Abul Kalam, the second incident took place at Telipara under Gosaigaon subdivision in the district where suspected militants shot dead one Nirisan Basumatary”— Newspost reported .
The Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) were limping back to normalcy after a major ethnic strife claimed 99 lives three months back.
