An illuminated Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus building in Mumbai is a beautiful sight. From the Indian tricolour on Independence Day to pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the iconic railway station in Mumbai is often been lit up for various causes along the lines of the Empire State Building and other buildings world over. On Sunday, the heritage structure joined landmarks around the world to show solidarity with the victims of the Paris terror attacks by projecting the colours of the French flag. From the Opera House in Sydney to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the illuminated monuments made for a amazing sight.

[caption id=“attachment_2508644” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] CST lit up in the Dutch colours. PTI[/caption] However, while all the other buildings showed the blue, white and red of the French national flag, the lights on CST actually showed the reverse. CST was lit in red, white and blue instead, invariably ending up showing the colours of the Dutch flag. While the intention was a noble one, the goof up in colours seemed to dampen the overall spirit of the gesture. A little attention to detail would have gone a long way, especially since the image of CST was shared world over. Imagine if the situation was reversed and a foreign monuments showed the Indian tricolour with the green band on top and saffron at the bottom? This glaring error did not go unnoticed on social media several Twitter users pointed out the flaw by Mumbai railways.
Oops! Wrong country! Mumbai's CST draped as a Dutch flag. French flag features vertical stripes. pic.twitter.com/oWQETXZUs5

Some people on Twitter managed to see the lighter side of things
But most were critical about CST’s goof up
Which moron decides to put colored lights on CST Terminal and he does not know the colour of french flag. pic.twitter.com/FNnl5WHpdt
