He stated that 85% of the villages in Arunachal Pradesh are connected to the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna and emphasised the importance of providing a good connection to the state’s rural areas.

The Indian Premier stated that an additional Rs 50,000 crore will be spent on the development of infrastructure in the substantial northeastern state, using the example of highway construction in distant and inaccessible locations.

“The development of the new airport will create huge opportunities in the field of cargo services. As a result, farmers of the state can now sell their produce to bigger markets,” he said.

Speaking to a gathering at the airport, he further mentioned that farmers in the state are benefiting from PM Kisan Nidhi.

According to PM Modi, a specific programme is being launched in the state to connect Indian youngsters with NCC, which will provide them defence training as well as a sense of duty to the country.

He mentioned a colonial law that barred the residents of Arunachal Pradesh from harvesting bamboo and said the administration is moving to repeal the rule. He emphasised that bamboo cultivation enables the locals of the area export bamboo goods to India and other countries because it is an integral part of their way of life.
