He was quickly detained by the police after he managed to throw black ink in the face of Sahara group chief Subrata Roy, but this may not be the first time that Gwalior-based lawyer Manoj Sharma has flung things at people in the name of justice.

New reports indicate that Sharma may have earlier been involved in throwing a slipper at former Indian Olympic Association chief Suresh Kalmadi.

“_Woh gareebon ka chor hai (_he robs from the poor)” a shirtless Sharma shouted even as reporters attempted to speak with him.

Some reports have said that Sharma is the same individual who had earlier thrown a slipper at Kalmadi, at the Patiala Court complex in Delhi in 2011. The police is yet to verify that he is the same individual.

According to a Telegraph report , Sharma alias Kapil Thakur, who had attempted to attack Kalmadi, was suspended in 2002 by the local bar association after he attacked a person with a knife in a court.

Police at the time had said he might have been convicted for stabbing a Sub Divisional Magistrate.

He seems to be mentally unstable. He claimed that he is working for a weekly ‘Sansad Garjana’,” an official had said at the time .

However, it didn’t hurt Sharma’s reputation too much and he returned home to a rousing welcome.
