Left-arm spinner Vishal Jayswal got the wicket of his life as he dismissed Virat Kohli on Friday in Gujarat’s clash against Delhi in the second round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kohli was looking set to get his second straight hundred in as many matches in the tournament before Jayswal foxed him with flight and turn to get the legend out stumped.
The 37-year-old was dismissed for 77 off just 61 deliveries but that was enough for him to get the Player of the Match award in Delhi’s seven-run victory over Gujarat.
While his team lost the match, Jayswal had his moment on the field and off it as well as he got the match ball signed by Kohli and also got a picture with the former India skipper.
Jayswal says he’ll cherish Kohli’s wicket forever
Jayswal is an all-rounder who bowls left-arm orthodox spin and bats left-handed in the lower middle order. On Friday, he was the pick of the bowler from both sides in the match. The left-armer picked up four wickets for 42 runs in his 10-over spell and the biggest of these scalps was of Kohli.
He said he will cherish this wicket forever and also shared a picture of himself with Kohli and of the ball signed by the former India captain.
