Sydney turned emotional on Saturday during the third ODI between India and Australia as Virat Kohli walked out to bat at the SCG, possibly for the last time Down Under. The atmosphere was electric as fans stood up and clapped as the Indian legend made his way to the crease after Shubman Gill’s dismissal in the 11th over.
Kohli gets a standing ovation
Even the members’ stand rose to their feet, paying tribute to one of cricket’s greatest entertainers and arguably the best ODI batter in the world. Having scored a memorable century at this very ground back in 2015, the SCG has always been special for him.

After two first-ball ducks earlier in the series, the crowd erupted when he safely got off the mark with a single off Hazlewood, almost as if he had already scored a hundred. Kohli acknowledged with a fist pump. Even though the crowd is almost full of Indian fans, the moment showed how greatly Kohli is admired in Australia.
Gill was dismissed after a cameo of 24 runs. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is showing his class at the other hand with his aggressive approach in the chase of 237. Rohit has smashed seven boundaries, including a six as he races to his 60th ODI half-century.
