Punjab Kings (PBKS) entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the largest auction purse among all teams. The PBKS had Rs 110.5 crore to spend in the IPL Auction 2025 , having only retained two uncapped players.
Their first purchase was bowler Arshdeep Singh whom they retained by using the RTM (right-to-match) card. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made the winning bid for the pacer with Rs 15.75 crore but PBKS decided to use RTM. SRH raised the bid to Rs 18 crore as per the new rules , but Punjab decided to match the bid and retain Arshdeep.
They broke the bank soon after for Shreyas Iyer as he became the most expensive player in the history of IPL after a winning bid of Rs 26.75 crore from PBKS. And they also landed veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for Rs 18 crore. Other additions were Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Nehal Wadhera, Harpreet Brar, Vishnu Vinod, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Yash Thakur, Marco Jansen, Josh Inglis, and Lockie Ferguson.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) retained players: Shashank Singh (Rs 5.5 crore) and Prabhsimran Singh (Rs 4 crore).
