India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Match LIVE Updates: The Indian cricket team will take on Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Group A clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday (14 September) amid calls from fans back home to boycott the match. The IND vs PAK match comes only a few months after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the death of 25 Indian citizens.

There’s a palpable anger among Indian fans, who have taken to social media to demand a boycott of the match against Pakistan, but the BCCI has defended its stance by claiming that such an action will hurt India’s prospects of hosting major multinational events in the future.

BCCI defends IND vs PAK match

One can also not ignore the fact that the BCCI, the Asian Cricket Council and the Pakistan Cricket Board stand to earn crores from the India vs Pakistan match.

Coming to the tournament. Both India and Pakistan have won their opening matches. India defeated the UAE by nine wickets, while Pakistan crushed Oman by 93 runs in their opening matches. The top two teams from a group will advance to Super 4s, and there’s a strong chance  India and Pakistan will meet each other once again in the next round.

India under pressure to beat Pakistan

Meanwhile, Indian assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has revealed that the Men In Blue players identify with the emotions of the fans , but they will approach the match as professionals.

“It’s a very sensitive issue and I’ve got no doubt the players share the compassion and feeling of the vast majority of the Indian public,” Ten Doeschate said. “The Asia Cup was in limbo for a long period of time and we were just waiting. We didn’t think we were going to be coming at one stage.

“You know what the Indian government’s stance is and now the team and particularly the players, you have to put those sentiments and the emotions behind. That’s something we addressed in the team meeting today.

“We’re aware of people’s feelings, at the same time we’ve got to go out, and the guys get a chance to play for their country, and they’ll be as professional and focused as they can be given the circumstances.”

Given the call for a boycott, Team India would want to win the match against Pakistan comprehensively, and they cannot afford any slip-ups.
