As expected Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, and other big Indian cricketers have registered themselves at the base price of Rs 2 crore for the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction which will take place on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday (5 November 2024) announced that overall 1,574 players including 1,165 Indians have registered for the IPL 205 player auction.
Apart from Iyer, and Pant, other Indian players to enter the IPL auction with bae prices of Rs 2 crore include Ishan Kishan, Mohammed Shami, and Deepak Chahar among others, as per ESPNCricinfo.

No Ben Stokes in IPL Auction as James Anderson Registers
It has also been reported that Ben Stokes has decided to stay away from IPL 2025 to manage his workload. England’s legendary pacer James Anderson, who recently retired from international cricket and has not played T20 since 2014, has entered the auction at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore.
Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who was released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after the franchise made him the costliest buy last year with a Rs 24.50 crore bid, will enter the auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore.

Overall 204 slots are up for grabs after 46 players were retained by 10 IPL franchises. One team in IPL can have a maximum of 25 players including 8 overseas players.
