IPL 2021, Live Cricket Score, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): An eventful over there. Bairstow started off with a four. Then got beaten. Then there was a mix-up with Williamson almost halfway down but the fielder couldn’t gather the ball. Bairstow then chips one uppishly wide of long on for a couple. And follows up with a single to make it 7 off the over. SRH need 10 off 12 balls.

That’s it from this match, do switch over to the second match of the day where KKR have won the toss and elected to bowl against CSK at the Wankhede Stadium. Goodbye and take care.
April 21, 2021, 18:58:10 (IST)

A good all-round performance from SRH. They read and adapted well to the wicket. The bowlers relied on cutters and slower ones on a sluggish track to restrict a dangerous PBKS batting line-up to just 120. PBKS didn’t adapt to the pitch and conditions, their shot selection was poor and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals which is why they never attained momentum. The SRH batsmen, on the other hand, played sensibly. Didn’t go for expansive shots, dealt in singles and twos and got the job done without much fuss.

Jonny Bairstow is the Player of the Match

April 21, 2021, 18:54:50 (IST)
That’s it! SRH win by 9 wickets. Arshdeep bowls a wide to gift the winning run. SRH finally get off the mark in the points table after three losses in the first three games.
April 21, 2021, 18:53:40 (IST)
Dropped! Another half chance goes a begging. Bairstow thumps it uppishly to mid off, it’s powerfully hit. Hood moves to his right but couldn’t hold on to it as the power in the shot gets the better of him.
April 21, 2021, 18:52:16 (IST)
SIX! That’s the body blow. Bairstow stays in his crease and thumps a cutter wide of long on for a flat six. Just 4 needed off 10 now.

FOUR! Fifty for Bairstow. It’s short and Bairstow pulls it over backward square leg for four. It releases the pressure as well.

After 17 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 104/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 47 , Kane Williamson 16)

A decent over from M Ashwin. He started off dropping a couple a touch short but then corrected and pitched it up further. Just three runs off it. 17 needed off 18. Is this getting a bit trickier?

April 21, 2021, 18:41:11 (IST)

After 16 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 100/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 45 , Kane Williamson 14)

There was half a chance available there for PBKS but they couldn’t grab it. Williamson survived a tough chance as he smashed one to short extra cover where Henriques dived and got a hand to it but couldn’t hold on. However, the singles continued as they garnered five runs off the over. There was just the one dot where Bairstow failed to steer a slower cutter. 21 needed off 24 balls.

After 15 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 95/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 43 , Kane Williamson 11)

PBKS need wickets desperately. It’s been easy for SRH batsmen. They take another four singles off the Allen over. Now need just 26 off 30 balls. Some one need to make something happen for PBKS.

April 21, 2021, 18:29:19 (IST)

After 14 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 91/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 41 , Kane Williamson 9)

Singles, singles and more singles. Hoods didn’t get his lengths right and was on the shorter side often in that over. Bairstow and Williamson picked up four singles in that over. 30 needed off 36.

April 21, 2021, 18:25:19 (IST)

After 13 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 87/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 39 , Kane Williamson 7)

Sensible cricket from Bairstow and Williamson. After a couple of singles off the first two balls, Williamson steers one wide of short third man for three. Two more singles off the next three balls make it 7 off the over again.

April 21, 2021, 18:20:34 (IST)

After 12 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 80/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 37 , Kane Williamson 2)

M Ashwin still not getting his lengths right. He was a bit short in that over as well. The batsmen easily milked them for singles and twos. He bowled a low full toss off the last ball, Bairstow drove it wide of long off for a quick couple. 7 runs off the over.

After 11 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 73/1 ( Jonny Bairstow (W) 32 , Kane Williamson 0)

A very good over from Allen. He got the wicket of Warner off the first ball and bowled in the length area just outside off to keep it tight. There was an appeal for an LBW off the final ball against Bairstow but the umpire turned it down, looked like going down leg. A wicket maiden from Allen. Well, this is the chance for PBKS to put more pressure and try to get another wicket.

April 21, 2021, 18:14:16 (IST)

OUT! Allen gets the breakthrough!

Warner should have done better there. It’s short on off, spinning in. Warner rocks back and looks to pull but ends up mistiming it to deep mid-wicket where the fielder, Mayank Agarwal, takes a good running catch. Warner departs for 37 off 37 balls.

After 10 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 73/0 ( David Warner (C) 37 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 32)

Another good over for SRH. There was a heart in mouth moment off the final ball though with Warner getting an outside edge looking to cut but the ball fell well short of the short third man fielder. Warner hit a lofted six off the third ball and three more singles in the over made it 9 off the over.

April 21, 2021, 18:10:34 (IST)
SIX! Nicely placed. Warner charges down and lofts it over extra cover off Hooda. He reached out for it and went through with the shot.
April 21, 2021, 18:08:53 (IST)

After 9 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 64/0 ( David Warner (C) 29 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 31)

Warner and Bairstow keeping the scoreboard ticking without taking any risks. Sensible cricket. Warner tried a reverse sweep though in that over. A couple of twos and two singles make it six off the over. M Ashwin didn’t get his lines and lengths right in that over.

April 21, 2021, 18:04:31 (IST)

After 8 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 58/0 ( David Warner (C) 26 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 28)

A decent over from Hooda. He dropped a couple short off the first two balls, Warner punched one for a couple and hit the other one straight to the extra cover fielder. Hooda then pushed it further full and beat Warner with one that turned away. The next two balls are full as well and end up being dots. Just two runs off the over.

After 7 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 56/0 ( David Warner (C) 24 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 28)

A decent start from Ashwin. He purchased turn from the wicket and pushed them quicker. One of the googlies spun viciously from outside off and Bairstow cautiously left it alone. He however drifted a couple down the leg side, one was a leg bye and one was a wide. Four more singles in the over made it six off it. PBKS need wickets. It’s running away from them quickly.

April 21, 2021, 17:54:57 (IST)

After 6 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 50/0 ( David Warner (C) 22 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 26)

Good stuff from Warner. He starts off putting pressure on Arshdeep with a four off the first ball. He then scampers through for a quick two one ball later. Arshdeep misses his marker off the next ball and bowls a wide down the leg side. Warner gathers another two by punching one through cover and then completes the over with a single to bring up the 50. A brilliant Powerplay for SRH.

April 21, 2021, 17:50:09 (IST)
FOUR! Nicely done by Warner, spots the slower one early, shuffles a touch and swipes it over square leg for a four off Arshdeep.
April 21, 2021, 17:48:59 (IST)

After 5 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 40/0 ( David Warner (C) 13 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 26)

Bairstow making sure that the runs keep flowing and SRH don’t get onto the back foot in chase of a low total. Henriques didn’t get his lengths right in that over. A short delivery was pulled over deep square leg for six. A couple of back of length deliveries outside off were hit straight to the covers fielder. He mixed his pace and gave away 7 runs off the over.

April 21, 2021, 17:46:27 (IST)
SIX! Short from Henriques on off, Bairstow stays in his crease and pulls it behind square leg. It flies over the ropes.

April 21, 2021, 17:44:39 (IST)

After 4 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 33/0 ( David Warner (C) 12 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 20)

Arshdeep starts off well, he beats Bairstow with a cutter first up. And nearly has him caught but the mistimed swing falls short of mid off. Looks like Warner will play the anchor role while Bairstow will play the aggressor. Bairstow sliced one to deep point for a couple before pulling one to deep mid-wicket for a single. Warner ended the over with a single to make it 6 off the over.

April 21, 2021, 17:41:00 (IST)

After 3 overs,Sunrisers Hyderabad 27/0 ( David Warner (C) 10 , Jonny Bairstow (W) 16)

A good over for SRH but Warner very lucky to be still out there. Off the fourth delivery of the over, Bairstow tapped it to point and set off for a non existent single. The fielder, Allen,  rushed in, did well with a one hand pick up but missed the stumps. Warner was way out. Got away with that. On either side of that missed chance there were a couple of fours, one from Bairstow and one from Warner. 10 runs off the over.

April 21, 2021, 17:39:28 (IST)
FOUR! Nicely placed. Warner stays back and guides a good length delivery from Shami through backward point.

IPL 2021, Live Cricket Score, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): A good all-round performance from SRH. They read and adapted well to the wicket. The SRH batsmen, on the other hand, played sensibly. Didn’t go for expansive shots, dealt in singles and twos and got the job done without much fuss. Preview: Sunrisers Hyderabad face Punjab Kings in the first match of Wednesday’s double-header at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Punjab Kings (PBKS), led by KL Rahul, are one place above the bottom-placed SRH with one victory in three matches. It’s going to be a hard-fought battle in Chennai as both teams are desperate to attain the winning momentum. For SRH, the main problem is their middle-order. The issue was there in last season as well but still they made it to the playoffs. This time, Warner and the team management will find it tough to make it to the playoffs if they don’t fix their issues sooner. Three bad defeats is not the kind of start they would’ve envisaged but they still got 11 matches to play. Against Punjab, SRH could look at the option of choosing Kedar Jadhav who has experience of playing in the middle-order. He also needs to prove a point after SRH bought him for Rs 2 crore in the auction despite having a bad season last time around in the UAE. Kane Williamson could be a big positive for Hyderabad but it’s not clear whether he’s fit to play the match. Meanwhile, Rahul’s team will likely see changes in the playing XI as they move from Mumbai to Chennai. The foreign pacers – Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson have gone for runs in the previous matches and considering the nature of the track in Chennai, they will have to depend on spinners. There’s some pressure on Rahul as well with regard to his strike-rate. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds with the bat on Wednesday. Squad Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner (C), Kane Williamson, Virat Singh, Manish Pandey, Priyam Garg, Wriddhiman Saha, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Sreevats Goswami, Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Kedar Jadhav, J Suchit, Jason Holder, Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, T Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Siddharth Kaul, Basil Thampi, Shahbaz Nadeem and Mujeeb ur Rahman. Punjab Kings: KL Rahul (c & wk), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, Prabsimran Singh, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Sarfaraz Khan, Deepak Hooda, Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Harpreet Brar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Porel, Darshan Nalkande, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Jhye Richardson, Shahrukh Khan, Riley Meredith, Moises Henriques, Jalaj Saxena, Utkarsh Singh, Fabian Allen, Saurabh Kumar.
