Player Bio

Colin de Grandhomme is an explosive right-hand batsman and a talented right-arm bowler who initially played for Zimbabwe, but later shifted loyalties to New Zealand in search of greener pastures.

The Harare-born cricketer made his first-class debut in 2005, after he represented the Zimbabwean team in the 2004 ICC U19 World Cup. Later, he also played for Manicaland and went on to represented Zimbabwe A and Under-23s. However, de Grandhomme felt it was time to look at the other side of the horizon and he was soon seen plying his trade for Auckland in New Zealand's domestic cricket. He had a wonderful 2008-09 season with the bat as well as the ball, averaging 54.50 and 24.19 respectively; thus helping his side win the State Championship. But, his success in the Twenty20 and limited-overs side was relatively limited. In 2009, he was part of the New Zealand Emerging Players team that took part in the quadrangular series held in Australia.
