Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) welcome SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL) on Thursday, April 2 at the Eden Gardens. Both the teams come into the game after defeats in their campaign openers.
RCB defeated SRH in the first game of the season with the Hyderabad bowling line-up failing to leave any impact. KKR too suffered a similar feat at the hands of MI in their first game. Their bowling also looked really weak.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane too had some fitness issues in the first game but he has reportedly recovered and will be leading the side. SRH will try to bring in leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari in their team to add an attacking spin option. SRH captain Pat Cummins continues to be sidelined and Ishan Kishan will once again captain the side.

KKR vs SRH, IPL 2026: Match Prediction
KKR vs SRH Winner Prediction: Sunrisers Hyderabad
Both the sides have terrible bowling line-ups which were exposed in their campaign opener. However, KKR hold a big edge in the spin department thanks to Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. SRH, in response, have a stronger batting unit and with the KKR spinners out of form, the Sunrisers could well get their first win on board.
Quick Reads
View AllSRH would hope for their batters to out bat KKR comprehensively which they can do, at least on paper. Even if one of their batters fire, KKR will be pushed on the backfoot and this is the reason that SRH start as slight favourites for the game.
For KKR, Narine and Chakravarthy will have to work in tandem to stop SRH from posting an enormous total. If they can do that, then KKR will be in the game.
What to expect from KKR vs SRH match?
A high scoring game with a lot of sixes can be expected. Both the bowling line-ups are weak and both the sides have a batter of hard-hitters. So, we could see a six-hitting contest at the Eden Gardens but it should be a tight contest. All five games so far have been won by the team which bowl first. So the captain that wins the toss will once again opt to bowl.
