England fast bowler Jofra Archer gave India vice-captain Rishabh Pant a heated send-off after bowling him with a brilliant delivery during the third Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord’s on Monday, 14 July. The incident occurred on Day 5 when India were trying to chase down whatever was remaining of their 193-run target.
KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant opened the batting for India after Akash Deep got dismissed on the last ball of Day 4. Pant had looked confident early on and even smashed Archer for a classy four down the ground just two balls before in the 21st over. It was a typical one-handed shot from Pant.
But Archer wasn’t done as he adjusted quickly and came up with a perfect reply. On the fifth ball of the over, Archer changed his angle and got Pant, clipping the top of the off-stump in what was an absolute beauty of a delivery. Pant, who tried to defend it, was left stunned.

After arguably taking the most crucial wicket for England in this chase, Archer started celebrating, running past Pant and shouting something angrily, right in the Indian batter’s ears. The send-off clearly showed the intensity of the contest and Archer’s emotion after picking a big wicket.
