India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah added fuel to the fire in the Asia Cup 2025 final as he mocked Haris Rauf with a plane crash gesture in Dubai on Sunday, September 28. Bumrah produced the moment after shattering Rauf’s off stump in the 18th over, dismissing him for 6 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah’s plane crash celebration goes viral
The gesture had context from the previous India vs Pakistan game in Super 4 stage of this tournament, when Rauf was caught on camera making the same gesture from the boundary line towards Indian fans. Bumrah’s act is being seen as a direct response to Rauf.

Rauf’s brief stay at the crease included a lucky boundary off an edge, but Bumrah had the last laugh with a perfect delivery that rattled the stumps. Bumrah might receive a fine for his celebration as the International Cricket Council (ICC) did the same with Rauf after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) filed a complaint against the Pakistani bowler last week.
The dismissal left Pakistan struggling at the death overs, eventually getting bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs. Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer for Pakistan with 57 off 38 balls. Fakhar Zaman contributed 46 off 35 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build partnerships.
Kuldeep Yadav was the star with the ball, taking four wickets for 30 runs in four overs. Jasprit Bumrah claimed two wickets for 25 runs, while Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel took two wickets each. Shivam Dube and Tilak Varma bowled well but went wicketless. India are now favourites to win the match and lift the title.
