The auction for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost here and all 10 teams are ready to hunt for the best players who will further strengthen their squads. A maximum of Rs 237.55 crore can be spent with 77 spots up for grabs as teams gear up for the next season of IPL which is scheduled to start in the latter half of March 2026.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will decide how the auction pans out as they will enter the room with a purse of Rs 64.3 crore, the highest ever for a team in a mini auction. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) too have a sizeable purse and they would also have a big say in how the auction goes.

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is expected to be the most expensive player but, as we have seen in the past, anything is possible in auctions. Venkatesh Iyer, Liam Livingstone, Ravi Bishnoi could turn out to be among the most expensive players. Uncapped talent will also be going for big sums as teams have a lot of money to spend.
