India vs Namibia T20 World Cup LIVE Score: Captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir will be hoping for a more clinical performance from the Indian team when they face Namibia in their second Group A fixture of the ongoing T20 World Cup. After their tournament opener against the United States of America at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, in which they recovered from a shaky start to register a 29-run win, their Men in Blue travel north to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
India will also be taking a couple of selection-related calls ahead of their upcoming showdown against Namibia. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was seen bowling at full tilt in the nets at Arun Jaitley Stadium and is expected to make his first appearance of the tournament after sitting out of the match against USA , in which Mohammed Siraj led the attack in his absence.
Question mark over Abhishek Sharma’s availability
Abhishek Sharma was initially doubtful for the Namibia fixture , having been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi earlier this week. Tilak Varma, however, revealed on the eve of the match that the explosive opener has since been discharged, and a decision on his participation will be taken closer to the match.
Should he fail to regain match fitness, the Indian team management could look at bringing Sanju Samson back at the top of the order, although Ishan Kishan will remain the designated wicketkeeper.
Namibia, meanwhile, began their campaign with a seven-wicket loss at the hands of Netherlands at the same venue on Tuesday, having posted 156/8 on the board that was easily eclipsed by the Scott Edwards-led Dutchmen.
The Gerhard Erasmus-led side, however, will be aiming to put the disappointing performance behind and catch Surya and Co unawares, like so many associate nations have done against some of the more fancied teams so far in this tournament.
