India vs Australia 2nd ODI Live Score: India will be hoping for an improved display across departments after getting overpowered in a rain-affected match in Perth as they face Australia in the second One-Day International in Adelaide. India’s white-ball tour of Australia began on a damp note, both literally as well as figuratively, with the Men in Blue scoring managing just 136/9 in a 26-over innings that had been interrupted by rain four times.
Australia, led by Mitchell Marsh in Pat Cummins’ absence, were set a target of 131 under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern Method, and ended up cruising past their target with seven wickets and nearly five overs to spare. Captain Marsh led the way with an unbeaten 46 while Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers earlier in the day with figures of 7-2-20-2 – bowling all seven overs out on the trot.
Can Ro-Ko score big in Adelaide?
The tour opener was meant to be an occasion of celebration for Indian cricket fans with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli making their first international appearance in seven months. Both veterans, however, perished early in the innings with Rohit and Kohli departing for 8 and 0 respectively.
Ro-Ko will be hoping to put the disappointment of Perth behind as they turn their attention towards the Adelaide Oval, where they will be hoping to give the Indian fans their money’s worth on a batting paradise.
While the Men in Blue aren’t likely to tweak their batting order despite the disappointing performance at Perth’s Optus Stadium, they might be inclined towards bringing the in-form Kuldeep Yadav into the XI in place of one of the three frontline pacers – Harshit Rana being the likely case – or one of the two spin-bowling all-rounders.
Kuldeep had finished as the leading wicket-taker in each of India’s last two assignments – the T20 Asia Cup as well as the Test series against West Indies – and could certainly prove handy in Australia as well.
