Having registered his 22nd half-century in the first innings of the second India vs England Test, being played at Edgbaston, Jadeja immensely supported captain Shubman Gill, as the two stitched a massive 203-run stand for the sixth wicket.
Jadeja’s stay at the crease ended after a well-made 89. While he missed a much-deserved hundred on Thursday, he inflicted heavy damage to the hosts. In the process, Jadeja modified the history books.

Jadeja achieves massive milestone during second Ind vs Eng Test
Jadeja became the first player to complete 2000 runs as well as rake in 100 wickets in the World Test Championship since its inception in 2019. The all-rounder from Jamnagar took 41 WTC matches to get to the figure of 2,000 runs. He needed 79 runs to reach the mark ahead of the start of the ongoing Test in Birmingham. He successfully attained the score, moreover scored 10 runs over the required ask. When it comes to total wickets, he has 132 of the sort in the same duration.
Till now, a total of 15 players have dismissed 100 batters in the WTC cycles, whereas 26 players have crossed the 2,000 run mark.
