T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule Announcement LIVE Updates: The full schedule for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be unveiled on Tuesday (25 November) by the broadcasters Star Sports at 6.30 PM IST. The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match is most likely to be held on 15 February in Colombo.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will comprise 20 teams and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. The tournament will most likely be played from 7 February to 8 March. The final on 8 March will be held in Ahmedabad, unless Pakistan reach the summit clash, in which case it will be held in Colombo.
ICC T20 World Cup 2026: India and Pakistan in same group
The venue for the semi-finals would be Mumbai and Kolkata, but if Pakistan or Sri Lanka reach the semi-final, then the Kolkata game will be shifted to Colombo.
The 20 teams in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be divided into four groups of five teams. The top two teams from each group will reach the Super Eight, where they will be divided into two groups of four. The top two from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
It has been reported that besides India and Pakistan, the USA, Namibia and the Netherlands would be part of the same group.
The T20 World Cup 2026 would be played in the same format as the 2024 edition, which was won by India. Team India had beaten South Africa in the final by seven runs at Bridgetown to clinch their second world title.
In the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India were part of Group A with the USA, Pakistan, Canada and Ireland. While India and the USA qualified for the Super Eight, Pakistan were eliminated from the first round.
India also topped their Super Eight group comprising Afghanistan, Australia and Bangladesh, before beating England in the semi-final.
