Bangladesh vs Ireland Highlights 3rd T20I at Chattogram: Tanzid, bowlers shine in BAN's 8-wicket win

Tanzid Hasan gets the Player of the Match award. He became the first player from a full ICC member team to take five catches in the match and then slammed a brilliant 55 not out in just 36 balls.

A clinical win for Bangladesh today after losing the first match and then winning the second by a very small margin. Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman starred with the ball with three scalps each to their names. Then Tanzid Hasan, who had taken a record five catches in the field, scored a fiery half-century to guide his team to victory with 6.2 overs remaining.

Bangladesh win by eight wickets!

An easy victory for them and they take the series trophy as well. Parvez Hossain Emon hits the winning four and he does it just after Tanzid Hasan completed his fifty with a six. Poor bowling and batting from Ireland who lose the series despite winning the opener.

Just 10 runs needed now. Tanzid Hasan remains just a couple of runs away from his half-century. Parvez Hossain Emon has given him good company and the duo has raised 62 runs in 46 deliveries to end Ireland’s hopes.

Tanzid Hasan launches Gareth Delany for two sixes and a four in this over to effectively end the game. Hasan has jumped up to 44 in just 25 deliveries. Ireland bowlers just cannot find the right areas and the fact that they do not have top-quality spinners is not helping at all.

Harry Tector has been dispatched for a six. Tector has bowled well so far but this time Parvez Hossain Emon lofts the ball down the ground and hit his second six of the game. Bangladesh would quickly end this game it seems.

Das goes for another pull, having collected six runs in two balls using that shot in the previous over, but ends up holing out to Curtis Campher at deep midwicket to depart for 7. Excellent start for Tector as he concedes just two runs while getting rid of Das.

Bangladesh reach 48/2 at the end of the powerplay, needing another 70 to win from 84 balls with eight wickets in hand. Still their game to lose.

The ball just keeps finding Tanzid Hasan Sakib. Mohammed Saifuddin bowls a full ball and Benjamin White strikes it straight down the ground where Tanzid takes another catch, his fifth of the night. This is a record for most catches by a Bangladesh player in T20Is.

Ireland are trying hard to cross the boundary line but they are finding Tanzid Hasan Sakib everywhere. He takes two catches in this over as Mustafizur Rahman dismisses Mark Adair and Matthew Humphreys.

Mustafizur Rahman comes back into the attack and George Dockrell finally manages to find a four. He manages to beat the man at deep backward square-leg to get his first boundary. Bangladesh still in total control of proceedings.

Paul Stirling finds Ireland’s first boundary in seven overs but he would not be getting any more. Rishad Hossain concedes a four and then comes back to take Stirling’s wicket. A flat shot into the leg side but Stirling finds the fielder on the boundary. 38 off 27 for the Irish captain today.

Googly from Rishad Hossain. Curtis Campher tries to cut the ball but gets no connection and is bowled. Bangladesh are making it impossible for Ireland to score here.

Runs have totally dried up for Ireland. They were 50/1 in five overs and since then they have added just seven runs in 18 balls. Brilliant comeback from Bangladesh who are showing why they are so good on slowish wickets. Another wicket could be in the offing.

Lorcan Tucker is undone by Mahedi Hasan. Tucker aims for a reverse sweep but gets hit on his pads. Bangladesh appeal hard but the umpire thinks it is not out. However, Bangladesh review and we have three reds on DRS. So, just a single run today for Tucker and Bangladesh are coming back into this game.

This is what Mustafizur Rahman does. A brilliant over from the left-armer and this pitch will definitely suit his style. Just one run from this over and Ireland cannot finish the powerplay on a good note. Paul Stirling is still in the middle and he has been joined by Lorcan Tucker.

Here comes the Fizz and here comes a wicket! Litton Das kept his biggest weapon Mustafizur Rahman to finish the powerplay and he starts off in style. Harry Tector tries to defend but plays the delivery back on to his stumps. Just five for Tector in this game.

Another good over for Ireland and they are now at the half-century mark within five overs. Captain Paul Stirling is looking in good touch. He just smashed Saifuddin for a six over mid-wicket. The new batter, Harry Tector, has also found his first boundary and Ireland are in a strong position now.

Tim Tector was on a roll but Shoriful Islam has the last laugh. Tector sends Islam for a boundary on the off-side and then on the leg side before launching the left-arm pacer over his head for a six. Islam then bounces back with a good slower ball to clean up Tector who walks back for 17 off 10.

Paul Stirling gets a life. Mohammad Saifuddin has been introduced into the attack and he makes a big chance on his third ball. Stirling tries to send the ball over mid-wicket fence but mishits and the ball goes towards the cover region. Saifuddin makes the ground with a good run but cannot hold on to the ball.

Stirling makes him pay with a beautiful cover drive on the final ball of the over.

Shoriful Islam, the left-arm pacer, starts with a tight over. Good bowling from the left-armer and he manages to contain both the openers Paul Stirling and Tim Tector.
