Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has made it clear that he does not fear criticism as the left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder aims to find more playing time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
In a recent interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Arjun revealed some interesting details about his career and also explained how he keeps himself calm.
No fear of criticism, says Arjun
Arjun was asked about how he keeps himself cool apart from playing cricket and practicing. The all-rounder had an interesting reply. “I have five dogs in Goa. I spend time playing with them,” he said.
When asked if he had any friends who also play cricket, Arjun replied that none of his friends are cricketers and they do not know much about the game.
“I don’t really have cricketer friends. Most of my friends do not play cricket. I talk non-cricket stuff with them. They do not know much about cricket,” Arjun said.
Then came the blunt reply when he was asked if he had any fear of criticism. “No, I don’t,” the all-rounder calmly replied.
‘Left Mumbai for more opportunities’
Arjun also revealed that he had to leave Mumbai in domestic cricket to get more opportunities to be on the field. He has been playing for Goa for the past few years now.
“There (At Goa) I got more opportunities, exposure and most importantly, confidence,” Arjun was quoted as saying by News24.
He also left Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2026 to join LSG who will play their first match of the season on April 1 against Delhi Capitals. He had been with the Mumbai franchise since 2021 but got to play only five matches, four of which came in 2023. He took three wickets at an economy of 9.35. He got to bat only once and scored 13 runs in nine balls.
He said that all players want opportunities on the field but not much is in their hands. “Every player wants more opportunities. No one wants to sit on the bench. But all a player needs to do is work hard and seize the opportunity when it comes," he said.
