Here is all that will take place in the world today.
Erdogan to visit White House
US President Donald Trump is set to host Turkish counterpart President Tayyip Erdogan at the White House today. The two leaders are set to conclude trade and military agreements, Trump informed earlier.
“We are working on many Trade and Military Deals with the President, including the large-scale purchase of Boeing aircraft, a major F-16 Deal, and a continuation of the F-35 talks, which we expect to conclude positively,” he wrote on Truth Social.
Erdogan last visited the White House in 2019 during Trump’s first term, and the pair have had a checkered past. While they had close personal bonds during Trump’s 2017-21 term as president, it was also a period of strained bilateral relations due to disputes over Washington’s ties with Kurdish fighters in Syria and over Ankara’s ties with Moscow.
PM Modi to inaugurate World Food India
The fourth edition of the World Food India will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The three-day event will be hosted by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) at the Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
According to an official release of the Food Processing Industries Ministry, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu will be among those present at the event.

More ShortsUNGA global dialogue on AI governance
World leaders are set to meet in New York to discuss a framework for inclusive and accountable AI governance at the 80th UNGA session.
The UN said Artificial AI has been rapidly transforming the world, including everything from self-driving cars to the analysis of medical images, from inventory management for businesses to financial trading algorithms and from virtual assistants to real-time language translation.
However, it notes that the benefits of AI are unevenly distributed, and many countries struggle to access the tools which could transform their societies by supporting development and improving the lives of ordinary people.
India’s longest cantilever glass bridge to open in Andhra Pradesh
The longest cantilever bridge in India is set to open in Andhra Pradesh today. Built under the supervision of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), the unique structure atop Kailasagiri is worth Rs 7 crore.
The structure measures 55 metres, breaking the previous record held by Kerala’s Vagamon Glass Bridge at 38 metres. According to NDTV, three layers of 40 mm-thick tempered laminated German glass panels, supported by about 40 tonnes of manufactured steel, make up the transparent walkway.
The structure can withstand winds of up to 250 km/h and cyclonic forces. This is a crucial safety feature in a coastal city that often experiences storms and cyclones.
Asia Cup: Bangladesh v Pakistan
Bangladesh is set to butt heads with Pakistan at the 17th match of the Asia Cup 2025. The match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a must-win for both teams.
Pakistan has comfortably secured a win against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has managed to narrowly defeat Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
The weather in Dubai is expected to be hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 36 degrees C to 38 degrees C when the game starts at 8 pm IST. No rain is expected during the match, but the intense heat will pose a challenge for the players. The humidity level will be around 50 per cent during the match.
