After receiving the Best Actress Award, Lily in her acceptance speech was seen expressing her gratitude for all her friends, supporters, and fellow artists. “It’s truly a gift that we get to do this for a living. That’s the win. It was getting to be here, it was getting to be on set. It was getting to tell stories,” she said.
Notably, the award comes as a major achievement for Gladstone as she became the first Indigenous woman to win in her category at the Golden Globes earlier and now at the SAG Awards.
She has also bagged a nomination at the Critics Choice Awards and the upcoming Academy Awards in the Best Actress category.
