Watch: Anushka Sharma interrupts interview to answer call from reporter's mother

In a moment of spontaneity and goofiness, Anushka Sharma interrupted a press interview for her upcoming film Phillauri to take a call from a reporter’s mother.

In a video from the interview, which was uploaded on 8 March, 2017, she can be seen surprising the mother. She was answering a question about being one of the producers of her film when the phone, which was placed there in order to record the interview, began ringing.

“Mumma ka phone aa raha hai,” said Sharma, the instant she saw it ring. She showed the phone screen to the reporter it belonged to, who replied by asking her to cut the call. Instead, Sharma took the call and said this:

“Haan aunty, woh interview mein hai abhi, toh baad mein phone karti hai. Main Anushka bol rahi hu. Haan aunty, (to the reporter) aapka naam kya hai? Haan aunty, Kritika baad mein phone karegi, abhi woh interview mein hai. Mera le rahi hai aunty, Anushka Sharma ka. Theek hai aunty, okay aunty.”

After she finished answering the call, Sharma looked at the phone with a very smug and satisfied look, and said “Aunty ne kaha wapis kar dena beta phone” to the reporter. She then sat back in her chair and nodded, indicating that she would continue the interview.

Also at this interview was her co-star from the film Diljeet Dosanjh, who first expressed surprise when she took the call and later sat back in his chair, smiling at his phone. The reporters present at the event were in splits when Anushka began speaking to the reporter’s mother.
