In a proud moment for Vir Das and also for the entire country. He has won the prestigious Emmy Award. He got the Best Comedy award at the International Emmy Awards 2023 on Tuesday, 21 November. While he won the Emmy Award for his series “Vir Das: Landing”, he shared the award with ‘Derry Girls – Season 3’.
The actor-comedian spoke about his big moment on social media. Many including celebrities like Zoya Akhtar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rhea Chakraborty, Malaika Arora, and others congratulated the comedian.

Sharing pictures of himself while holding the Emmy Award in his hand, Vir Das wrote, “For India For Indian comedy. Every breath, every word. Thank you to the Emmys for this incredible honour.”
Taking to the comment section, actor Hrithik Roshan wrote, “Congrats ! Well deserved”, while Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, “Well deserved.”
Taapsee Pannu wrote, “So heartening Mr. Das ! Take a bow!”, while actress Richa Chadha wrote, “amazing proud moment congratulations Vir.”
Neha Dhupia commented, “So well done … congratulations Vir”, while Zoya Akhtar dropped heart emojis. Soni Razdan also commented on his post and wrote, “Omg. This is so well deserved. So so proud. Hugest congratulations.”

Vir Das expresses gratitude
The actor-comedian while celebrating his Emmy win also issued a statement and expressed gratitude.
“I have immense gratitude, holding the International Emmy for Best Comedy for Vir Das: Landing. This one is for my team and for Netflix without whom this wouldn’t have been possible. This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, and to win this accolade for my fifth special with Netflix feels like a culmination of passion, perseverance, and the undying support of people around the globe who have given so much love to Vir Das: Landing,” a part of his statement read.
