VIP 2 first look: Kajol, Dhanush face off in poster released by Soundarya Rajinikanth

Actor Dhanush’s sequel to 2014 Tamil blockbuster Vela Illa Pattathari aka VIP went on floors on Wednesday, 4 January 2017.

“First day shoot in year 2017. Do bless us,” Soundarya Rajinikanth, who will direct the project, wrote on her Twitter page.

She also shared the film’s motion poster.

Starring Kajol, Amala Paul and Samuthirakani, the film is produced by Dhanush’s home banner Wunderbar Films.

Kajol reportedly plays the antagonist and her confrontational scenes with Dhanush are being pitched as the highlight of the film.

Kajol was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s family drama Dilwale last year. As far as Tamil cinema is concerned, her last was back in 1997 when she played an aspiring nun in Minsara Kanavu, sharing the screen space with Arvind Swamy and Prabhudeva.

The film is being co-produced by S Thanu’s V Creations.
