Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s latest project, The Vaccine War revolves around the plight of the scientists in bringing out India’s own COVID-19 vaccine. The film, which focuses on the spread of Coronavirus and the ensuing pandemic, was released on Thursday, 28 September. In addition, the bio-science film is known to release a hard rock version of the hymn ‘Nasadiya Sukta’. In it, the ace director combines traditional mantras’ sonic aesthetics along with the complex timbre in Hindi. A hard rock touch is added to the rendition, creating a calm yet peaceful outcome.
About the Scientific Temperament Of Hindu Civilisation
Nasadīya Sukta, also known as the Hymn of Creation, concerns cosmology and the universe’s origin. It begins with the statement: “Then there was neither existence nor nonexistence.”
In The Vaccine War, Nasadiya Sukta features heavy and hard edged rock riffs combined with traditional folk music reminiscent of the classical Carnatic style. It is complete with sitars, chanting and shreddy guitar solos.
Talking about the film’s production, it has a very powerful sound with a fine audio design. Lowest pitch, bass lacks oomph and the drums are simple though don’t have a loud enough impact. However, one cannot ignore the power-packed use of guitars.
The ace director announced the song and wrote: “THE WAIT IS OVER: Launching Nasadiya Sukta from Rigveda that features in #TheVaccineWar #ATrueStory. Nasadiya Sukta is the world’s first scientific theory of universe’s creation. Please share this and make the world aware of Hindu civilisation’s scientific temperament.”

The song is accompanied by a music video showing clips from the movie regarding vaccine preparation, media’s largely negative role, political controversies and the determination of scientists to ‘Make In India’ something real and achievable.
The two most crucial dialogues in the music video are by Nana Patekar. The first revolves around the fact that scientists at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) say: “Today we have ICMR only because of the I (meaning that the Indian Council of Medical Research is only working because of its first initial which stands for ‘Indian’).
The second time he addresses the media and says: “If this vaccine had a label from the West, you wouldn’t even question it.”
The Vaccine War collection
According to Sacnilk.com, the Vivek Agnihotri directorial recorded a poor start at the box office despite positive reviews. The film minted Rs 1.3 crore on Thursday.
