A day after launching the trailer of his Tamil horror film Aval, Milind Rau also unveiled the trailer of its Hindi counterpart The House Next Door, starring Siddharth, Andrea Jeremiah and Atul Kulkarni. YouTube[/caption] Despite the identical storylines, the trailer of The House Next Door is quite different from that of Aval. The story of the horror flick revolves around a neurosurgeon (Siddharth) and his wife (Andrea) who move into a new house. However, they realise that the house next door, inhabiting a little girl and her mother, is haunted. However, Siddharth’s character refuses to give in to the supernatural elements until a close one gets ‘possessed’ after which he resorts to exorcism. The film will also release as Gruham in Telugu. In an exclusive interview to _Firstpost_ , Rau revealed that Siddharth and him deliberately did not dilute the horror film with comedy, as is the trend in Tamil cinema. He added that they took inspiration from the contemporary and classic Japanese and Korean horror films. The House Next Door is co-produced by Siddharth and Viacom 18 Pictures. It is slated to release this Halloween on 3 November, along with Abhay Chopra’s thriller _Ittefaq_ , Rakhee Sandilya’s romantic comedy _Ribbon_ and Taika Waititi’s superhero ensemble Thor: Ragnarok.
The House Next Door is the Hindi version of Milind Rau’s trilingual horror film which will release as Aval in Tamil and Gruham in Telugu this Halloween.
