Taylor Swift offered $2 million to $3 million per show by Singapore government, slated to perform at six sold-out shows

Singing sensation and pop star Taylor Swift is a force to reckon with, and her Eras Tour created history in terms of euphoria and box-office. And going by the success she generated with her historic tour, reports say she has been offered $2 million to $3 million per show by Singapore government in exchange of exclusivity.

She is slated to perform at six sold-out shows at Singapore’s National Stadium next month.

Taylor Swift recently created history at the Grammy Awards by becoming the first performer to win the prize for Album of the Year four times. The singer and songwriter bagged the award for her album Midnights, which also helped her secure the Best Pop Vocal Album award. She had previously been tied on three best album wins with Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra.

Jennifer Beckett, University of Melbourne senior lecturer in media and communications said, “It’s just so incredible to see how many different ways you can unpack  Taylor Alison Swift .”

After a record-breaking opening weekend  of $92.8 million, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” took in an estimated $31 million over the weekend last year in October from 3,855 locations, according to AMC Theaters.  In an unconventional deal , the theater chain was distributing Swift’s concert film, and playing it only Thursdays through Sundays.

Most Swifties rushed to see the film on opening weekend, when a large percent of sales were driven by advance ticketing. Sales dropped a steep 67% in its second weekend, potentially signifying that “The Eras Tour” was predominantly an opening-weekend phenomenon.
