Actress Suhani Bhatnagar, who played the character of Babita Phogat in Aamir Khan starrer Dangal, passed away at the age of 19 due to dermatomyositis. Recently, the wrestler paid a visit to the actor’s house in Faridabad and offered her condolences to Suhani’s parents.
Babita shared pics from Suhani’s residence where she is paying tribute to the late actress. Sharing the images on Instagram, she wrote in Hindi, “Suhani Bhatnagar, who played the role of my childhood in the film Dangal, reached her Faridabad residence today and paid condolences to her family and expressed condolences. Om Shanti.”
Sanya Malhotra, who played the grown-up version of Babita Phogat in the Nitesh Tiwari-directed movie, remembered Bhatnagar in a post on her Instagram Stories.
“I can’t believe it’s real. There was no one quite like our Suhani. She was so special, so talented, and way too young to have left us so soon. Rest in peace Chotu My deepest condolences to Pooja, Puneet and the entire family,” the actor wrote.
Talking about Suhani’s health disease, her parents told ANI, “She started developing swelling on her hand but we thought that it was just a skin disease… We took her to a few dermatologists but nothing helped. When we admitted her to AIIMS, she was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis . While treatment, she got an infection, and her body started producing fluids that collapsed her lungs and she succumbed to it…”
