Shilpa Shetty, who is busy promoting her next release, Sukhee, recently opened up about many aspects of her life, both on the personal and professional front. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the 48-year-old recalled how she was trolled by people around her for post-pregnancy weight. Not only that, the Dhadkan actress also shared how her husband Raj Kundra helped her during difficult times, making her bounce back stronger.
On post-pregnancy weight
Shilpa Shetty, whose social media handle is filled with videos featuring yoga or workout sessions, recently shed light on how she was trolled for her post-pregnancy weight. As per a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the _Sukhee_ star stated how it was ‘her business to be glamorous’. The actress further added how people couldn’t understand what it meant to lose weight just 8 months after her child’s birth.
The Indian star further remarked, “But I did not want to lose weight. Also, I did not pay attention to it. It took me 3 months to lose it, the day I decided to do so. Logon ka kaam hai kehna yar (People are conditioned to say stuff). You can’t change how people think. I can’t take them too seriously.”
On constructive criticism than negative trolling
Shilpa Shetty mentioned why she looks for constructive criticism rather than negative trolling. The actress, who is currently judging India’s Got Talent on TV, stated that she’s ‘happy’ that people said those things as it made her aware that ’now is the time to lose weight’.
The actress also mentioned how a lot can be learnt from feedback and not negative trolling. “I’m talking about constructive criticism,” she added, stating that there’s the benefit of both as ‘you can pick and choose what you want to focus on’.
Shilpa Shetty got married to businessman Raj Kundra in 2009. They have two kids, Viaan and Samisha. While they welcomed their first child, a son in 2012, their daughter was born through surrogacy in 2020.
Work Front
Shilpa Shetty is currently judging reality show India’s Got Talent. Her journey with TV started in 2006 with her involvement in dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Work wise, the actress will next appear in Sonal Joshi’s Sukhee, set for release on 22 September. The film stars Kusha Kapila, Kiran Kumar, Amit Sadh and Dilnaz Irani among others. The film’s plot revolves around a housewife who finally breaks free from her monotonous routine and heads to Delhi for her school reunion.
In addition, Shilpa Shetty will soon make her OTT debut with Rohit Shetty’s web series Indian Police Force co-starring Sidharth Malhotra.
