The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 was recently held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Shah Rukh Khan, who made a roaring comeback last year by delivering three blockbusters with Dunki, Pathaan and Jawan, bagged the Best Actor award for the latter.
Now, SRK’s acceptance speech from the ceremony is going viral, where he said that he has not received the best actor in a long time and thought he “would not get it again”.
“Shukriya sari jury member ka jinhone mujhko best actor ke liye layak samjha. Aur bahut saal ho gaye mujhe Best Actor ka award nahin mila toh aisa lagne laga tha ki ab milega hi nahin. Mujhe bahut khushi hai. Mujhe awards bahut ache lagte hai main thoda laalchi hu, greedy hu. Mere se zaada Vinod Chopra ko acche lagte hai. Hum dono share karlenge Vinod (I thank jury who considered me worthy of the Best Actor award. I have not received the Best Actor Award in a long time. It seemed as if I would not get it again. I am extremely happy. I like awards. I am a bit greedy. Vidhu Vinod Chopra likes it more than me. We will share it Vinod),” said Shah Rukh Khan.
Talking about _Jawan_, it is the highest Bollywood grosser in the domestic market with over Rs 640 crore and close to Rs 1150 crore at the global box office. Directed by Atlee of Raja Rani, Mersal, Bigil and Theri fame, the film also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Riddhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Aaliyah Qureishi, Eijaz Khan, Sangay Tsheltrim, Seeza Saroj Mehta and others in prominent roles. Interestingly, Nayanthara also bagged the Best Actress for her performance in the pan-India blockbuster.
