Ranveer Singh poses with rapper Naezy, one of the inspirations behind his Gully Boy role
The Gully Boy trailer, featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, has been creating waves ever since its release. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy has Ranveer Singh play a rapper and Alia Bhatt, a medical student. The film is loosely inspired from the lives of Mumbai-based rappers Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy. The project is produced by by Zoya Akhtar's Tiger Baby and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment productions.
On Wednesday, Singh shared a picture with the original Gully Boy, rapper Naezy, and it is giving us some major cool vibes.
Even the rapper shared a post with Singh. In the picture, Ranveer can be seen sporting an olive hoodie and joggers, with he paired up with a cool cap and goggles. Naezy looked dapper as he chose to dress in all-black.
The first song, Apna Time Aayega, was released earlier this week and it is a hard-hitting rap performed by Singh. Mid-day reports Singh trained with rappers Divine and Naezy for 10 months before recording his first number for the film. The film has four songs performed by the actor, including a re-imagined version of Divine and Naezy's hit 'Meri Gully Mein'.
Gully Boy is all set to hit the big screens on the Valentine's Day, 14 February.
