The trailer opens with a group of rappers rapping in a cypher. Singh is a part of the ring too and is challenged by one of the veterans. However, he does not have it in him to rap wit confidence just yet. The trailer then takes you through other important parts of his life — he is dating a feisty Bhatt, who is a master at breaking bottles on people's heads when she's not being tongue-in-cheek. His father is a driver and he is made aware of his status time and again by powerful people who claim a driver's son is meant to be a driver.

Despite the hardships, he breathes, eats and sleeps and the powerful trailer records his rise from the streets on to the stage. Singh also puts his rapping skills to the test and sounds effortless.

Produced by Rietsh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, Gully Boy hits theatres on 14 February.
