Ranveer Singh may be delivering one of the biggest blockbusters of his career with Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, but behind the scenes, the actor was balancing something far more personal.
Co-actor Abhay Arora has revealed how Ranveer ensured he remained present for wife Deepika Padukone during her pregnancy, even amid an intense shooting schedule.
‘He would fly back to be with her’
According to Abhay Arora, Ranveer would often take short breaks from filming and fly back home to spend time with Deepika. In an interview with Mirchi Plus, he said, “Ranveer would try his best to get days off between shooting, even if it was just three or four days, so he could fly back to his wife and take care of his family. The way Ranveer takes care of his family is wonderful.”
Abhay Arora played the character of Yasir, the younger brother of gangster Arshad Pappu.
Managing a high-pressure shoot
_Dhurandhar 2_ required significant physical and emotional investment from Ranveer, with long shooting hours and a demanding role. Yet, Arora shared that the actor handled it seamlessly, switching between high-octane action sequences and personal duties without letting either suffer.
Ranveer and Deepika’s relationship timeline
Deepika and Ranveer’s relationship began on the sets of Sanjay Leela bhansali’s film, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. They dated for several years and reportedly even got engaged secretly in 2015. They exchanged their wedding vows on November 14, 2018, in a grand ceremony in Lake Como, Italy. They opted for two ceremonies, incorporating both Deepika’s Konkani heritage and Ranveer’s Sindhi background.
The couple welcomed their first child, Dua, on September 8, 2024.
