Rajinikanth’s Jailer turned out to be a huge blockbuster at the box-office. And Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan also created history by raking over Rs 70 crore on a single day, highest for a Hindi film. However, in Malaysia, Jailer created a new record by collecting over Rs 25 crore, marching ahead of SRK’s blockbuster.
In a video recently shared by PTI, a couple could be seen telling enthusiastically that they have travelled to Chennai from Japan to enjoy Rajini’s film. Yasuda Hidetoshi and his wife can be seen wearing Rajinikanth -themed t-shirts in the video. They also carried a prop that had Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia’s photo from Kaavaalaa printed on it. During an interaction with the news agency, Yasuda revealed he is a die-hard admirer of the superstar and has been a fan for almost 20 years now. He said that the first Rajinikanth films he watched were Muthu (1995) and Baashha (1995). He also enacted a few scenes from Jailer and older Rajinikanth films, delivering dialogues from the films. About Jawan As per the reports, Netflix had purchased the rights to stream Jawan while fans were still enjoying the picture in theatres. Jawan reportedly sold for a whopping Rs. 250 crores for its satellite rights, which included digital rights, satellite broadcasting rights, and music rights. Experts are speculating that considering that Pathaan came on OTT platforms 56 days after its theatrical run, it’s possible that Jawan might grace the digital screens around the end of October or the beginning of November (mostly near Diwali) this year. However, the official date has not been confirmed by the creators yet.
