Priyanka Chopra's The Sky is Pink will be co-produced by Ivanhoe Pictures, along with Roy Kapur Pictures, RSVP Movies and her banner Purple Pebble Pictures.
Priyanka Chopra's upcoming film the The Sky is Pink will be co-produced by Ivanhoe Pictures, which bankrolled Crazy Rich Asians, along with Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Pictures and Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies, according to Variety. Chopra, who recently tied the knot with American pop star Nick Jonas, will also co-produce the project.
The Sky Is Pink — based on a true life story — follows Aisha Chaudhary (essayed by Zaira Wasim), who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13. Chopra and Farhan Akhtar are playing Aisha's parents in the film, directed by Shonali Bose.
The project, which will hit the theatres in 2019, is currently in production and has been shot in Mumbai, Delhi and London. A brief schedule at the Andamans is planned for January.
"Partnering with Ivanhoe will help us leverage their strong distribution prowess in non-traditional markets for Indian films, while in turn this collaboration strengthens their association with the Indian film industry," Roy Kapur said in a statement, reports Variety.
Ivanhoe merged with Los Angeles based production company Sidney Kimmel Entertainment to form SK Global, which produces and finances film as well as television projects across the globe. The company has an interest in the Asian market and has collaborated with Blumhouse Production to develop content in India as well as Indonesia.
