NTR: Kathanayakudu leaked online by Tamilrockers hours after theatrical release

The NTR biopic, titled  NTR: Kathanayakudu, has been leaked online by piracy website Tamilrockers, state reports . The online website is infamous for leaking HD quality prints of newly released films.

Tamilrockers have been known to leak many of such major films, which include the likes of 2.0 . Despite orders from Madras High Court to block 12,000 sites, the issue of piracy seems to pose itself as an inevitable threat to the movie business. Though sites like Tamilrockers have faced significant backlash from fans and followers, the piracy of films continues.

NTR: Kathanayakudu is a Telugu film which is based on the life of famous actor cum politician NT Rama Rao. The film features Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati and Daggubati Raja among others in pivotal roles. It has been helmed by Krish. Vidya Balan plays NTR’s wife Basavatarakam in the film, while Rana Daggubati dons the hat of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta plays the role of filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee LV Prasad, who was responsible for launching NTR in films in 1949.

Backed by Nandamuri Balakrishna, NTR: Kathanayakudu hit the theaters on Wednesday.

The biopic has been divided into two parts. The second part is titled NTR: Mahanayakudu and will primarily focus on NT Rama Rao’s political journey. It is scheduled to release on 7 February.
