We all understand that Sharmin Segal’s performance as Alamzeb in Heeramandi was disastrous. But the way Jamie Lever imitated her was not appreciated by many netizens. They had to say coming from the same fraternity it was very insensitive on her part to imitate her and make fun of her performance and that it could lead to mental health issues for Sharmin.
Many actors in the past were unable to give their best performances in the very first few films. But immediately writing off an actor in her very initial big performance can be demotivating. We all know how Raveena Tandon, Priyanka Chopra polished their crafts. I totally agree that she completely massacred the best dialogues given to her in the _Heeramandi_ series. I also agree that the other character artists in the Netflix show did a brilliant job too. You just need to give her a bit more time. May be the role was not fit for her.
The maverick filmmaker of the entertainment industry, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently amazed the viewers with his latest project _Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar_, which premiered on 1st on Netflix. The web series was a visual spectacle amalgamating top-notch direction and impeccable performances. However, the weakest link in the web series turned out to be Sharmin Segal , who portrayed the character of Alamzeb.
Everybody has their own struggles and I am sure Jamie Lever too had her own. But just because Sharmin Segal has been lucky to get the role of Alamzeb in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, she has no right to pull her down. We should also understand that trolling somebody is not a nice thing to do.
Adhyayan Suman , who played the role of a nawab in Heeramandi said that ‘a lot of star kids face this’. “It shakes your confidence. It also depends on how you’re as a person and how you handle these things. No matter how thick-skinned you pretend to be, it still affects you somewhere. Like, I shouldn’t be talking about the two haters who questioned my screen time out of the 20,000 positive messages I got and yet I feel the urge to discuss those two. You do want to give some kind of a clarification because it does hurt you somewhere,” Suman told News18 Showsha.
So, come on Jamie Lever, you too have had your share of struggles and least that we can expect out of you is to put yourself into the shoes of that person. Mocking somebody is not going to help.
