US President Donald Trump slammed his former National Security Advisor John Bolton over his latest media interactions and his assessment of the upcoming US-Russia Summit in Alaska. Trump took to TruthSocial to call out Bolton’s remark that Putin “already won” before heading to Alaska for talks on the ongoing Ukraine war.
Trump insisted that the media narrative was biased and that the US was “winning at everything,” rejecting Bolton’s characterisation that Putin had “already won” by securing this meeting.
Bolton, in an exclusive interview with Firstpost’s Bhagyasree Sengupta, said that Putin’s meeting with Trump in Alaska is a “big win” for the Russian leader. “It is a big win for Putin to come to the United States. He’s a pariah leader of a rogue state that committed unprovoked aggression against Ukraine,” Trump’s former National Security Advisor said on Tuesday.
“On Friday, he’s going to get to stand next to the President of the United States and get his picture taken on territory that used to be Russian. Nobody in Russia has missed the fact that we bought Alaska from Russia in 1867. So it’s what Trump can do. I think a lot of people are going to be watching. But the main thing is to see if Putin emerges with Trump thinking that they’re friends again,” he added.

Bolton interview irks Trump
Trump expressed his frustration with the media, interviewing Bolton, calling it “unfair” coverage. “Very unfair media is at work on my meeting with Putin. Constantly quoting fired losers and really dumb people like John Bolton, who just said that, even though the meeting is on American soil, “Putin has already won.” What’s that all about? We are winning on EVERYTHING,” Trump wrote in the post on Wednesday.
“The Fake News is working overtime (No tax on overtime!). If I got Moscow and Leningrad free, as part of the deal with Russia, the Fake News would say that I made a bad deal! But now they’ve been caught. Look at all of the real news that’s coming out about their CORRUPTION. They are sick and dishonest people who probably hate our Country. But it doesn’t matter because we are winning on everything!!! MAGA,” he added.
