The bill seeks to provide citizenship to non-Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Due to the bandh, taxis, auto-rickshaws and buses were not available for the passengers to go to the airport or reach their destination after landing. The bandh began at 5 am and was called off at 4 pm which is when the stranded passengers were able to travel. Shah was recently in the news for his controversial remarks on
mob violence
and the alleged growing hatred in the country in the name of religion. He had also called Virat Kohli the “
worst behaved player
” in a Facebook post which drew strong criticism.
