Veteran actor Nagarjuna was recently in a conversation with his Shiva director Ram Gopal Varma, the pulsating action drama of 1990 that’s coming back to cinemas in restored version. And the chatter about Ranbir Kapoor began and of course, two of his biggest films- Brahmastra and Animal.
The Shiva star revealed, “That time I was doing Brahmastra with him and he was only talking about Animal that he was going to start. That time, he had not started Animal .”
“He was pulling out Arjun Reddy. He was not pulling out the Hindi version, but the Telugu version. He was showing some scenes. I remember one sequence where Vijay is kissing a girl. And he was showing me how real it is. He was very, very excited to start that film”, recalled Nagarjuna.
Ranbir Kapoor had said in one of his interviews, “When a film like Animal was offered I was so scared, I had to take that leap of faith. But I knew it could affect my image Being safe is very boring. Very important to constantly reinvent yourself I take great pride in owning my failures I like to learn from mistakes.”
Talking about the 2018 biopic Sanju, the actor said, “It was an extremely daunting task as I was doing a biopic of a very very big movie star who’s still very much working. I’ve known Sanjay Dutt ever since I was born, he has always been a dear family friend. Life came full circle when I was offered his biopic by Mr. Rajkumar Hirani, one of the finest directors we have.”
Ranbir added, ” The way he was telling the story, it was all there on paper. It was not a burden but a responsibility to portray him in the best way possible. He was very very particular about not to make him caricaturist. It was hard initially to find the right balance. It was a story I believe people could learn from.”
