MS Dhoni with hilarious response when asked to join Royal Challengers Bangalore

With five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles under his belt, MS Dhoni is arguably the best skipper to have featured in the competition so far. Needless to say, MS Dhoni’s leadership skills are revered widely. So it was not surprising when an ardent Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) supporter requested Dhoni to join the franchise in a bid to guide the team to their first-ever IPL title.

“I’ve been a die-hard RCB fan for 16 years and like the way you’ve won five titles for CSK, I want you to come to support us and win one trophy for us,” the fan asked Dhoni during an event.

MS Dhoni came up with a stunning response that had everyone in stitches. “You know. They [Royal Challengers Bangalore] are a very good team. Also, what you need to see is that everything does not go according to plan. All 10 teams in the IPL, if they have full players, are very strong teams. The problem arises if you are missing a few players due to injury. So, they are a very good team, and everyone has a fair chance in the IPL.

“As of now, I have so many things to worry about on my own team. I would like to wish every team all the best, but I can’t do much as of now. Imagine me coming out of the way to support or help another team. How would our fans feel? How would you feel?,” the World Cup-winning legendary India skipper replied.

Having featured in 250 IPL matches, MS Dhoni has 5082 runs to his name so far in the competition. Earlier this year, Dhoni became the first player in IPL history to play 250 matches. He also became the first captain to lead a single franchise 200th time in the IPL. Dhoni had led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title in the last edition of the competition.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, will be aiming to lift their maiden IPL trophy next year. Royal Challengers Bangalore had failed to reach the knockout stage of the IPL last season having registered a sixth-place finish.
