Basking in the success of Jawan, Sanya Malhotra is all set to treat the fans to other powerful performances in Arati Kadav’s directorial Mrs. The project is the official Hindi remake of Jeo Baby’s Malayalam outing, The Great Indian Kitchen, starring Nimisha Sajayan as the lead. Now, the latest update about the venture is that the captivating official first-look trailer of the drama has been unveiled on YouTube. Protagonist Sanya Malhotra will be seen playing the role of a happy-go-lucky girl who gets married into a patriarchal family that expects her to live as per the rules and regulations of their family.
Sanya Malhotra takes on the role of an aspiring dancer who marries into a family that is ruled by patriarchal norms and customs. As a young bride, she is asked to cook fresh meals, clean the house, and take care of everyone, but most of all she has to keep the family above her dreams and aspirations. The clip opens with Sanya Malhotra
in the middle of a dance sequence, cut-to, her wedding. Later, we get to see the multiple challenges she has to face as a new daughter-in-law.
Kanwaljit Singh has been roped in as Sanya Malhotra ’s father-in-law in the movie. In one of the scenes, we see him demanding pot-cooked and not cooker-made biryani, fresh rotis from his new daughter-in-law.
However, she draws the line when expected to touch her husband’s feet. The protagonist can be heard saying “Kya kar loge (What will you do)?” she asks him.
In addition to this, Sanya Malhotra’s next, Mrs has also been chosen for the Black Nights Film Festival, or PÖFF (Pimedate Ööde Filmifestival). The first look trailer for the film was released by the festival on their official YouTube channel.
