Oscar winning actor Kate Winslet said long back she was having that sinking feeling at the prospect of being seen naked in the 3D version of Titanic. Winslet, 36, was at the London premiere of the newest version of the 1997 hit film (in 2012) in which she stripped for a scene with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, The Sun reported.
“I’m not going to look. I’ll be in the bar by that point. I wish I hadn’t shown so much flesh but I was young and I knew I had things to prove,” she said. However, Winslet said she will be happy to watch herself on screen with her two kids - Mia, 11, and Joe, eight. In _Titanic_ , she played socialite Rose DeWitt Bukater opposite DiCaprio, who essayed the role of Jack Dawson. The film bagged 11 Oscars and the re-release of the films marks 100 years since the doomed passenger liner set sail from Southampton to New York in 1912, claiming several lives.
Winslet is an icon and a diva whose force is truly to reckon with. She’s known for films like Titanic, The Reader, and Avatar: The Way of Water. In a video of the actress that is going viral, she said something that has made Anushka Sharma and Kareena Kapoor Khan laud her.
She said, “I had some great role models, but I don’t feel I ever had people consistently looking out for me. Whereas now, we are consistently looking out for the younger actors. So any of that, you know, white noise in your head that says you shouldn’t be here and you don’t have the right and there’s going to be someone better, forget it. It’s you, and we all are excited to see what you’re going to do.”
“And it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes because you learn from your mistakes. So being an older actor who’s able to share those little pieces of wisdom that I’ve hopefully gathered along the way, I’m really appreciating that moment because I feel like I’ve kind of earned the right to step into it. Just getting to choose, when I can switch off,” she added.
