Cast: Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia De Martino, Jonathan Majors, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Ke Huy Quan, and ensemble Director: Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead Streaming On: Disney+ Language: English (with subtitles) Marvel Cinematic Universe aka MCU didn’t have a smooth ride when it came to TV shows as almost all the shows were quite disjointed and left fans disappointed. Among them, it was our very own God of Mischief aka Loki, who managed to impress us with its first delightful season, which brought the studio back on track. However, post that again we witnessed major disappointments in Secret Invasion, She-Hulk & Ms. Marvel. And now, the MCU has bounced back with the second season of Loki, which narrates a tighter story than its predecessor and is edgier than ever. The first season concluded with Loki realising that it is He Who Remains (a Kang variant) who is actually the father of Time Variance Authority (TVA) and the reason behind the workers losing their memory and making him robots at his service. In the second season, Loki along with Morbius and Sylvie is on a mission to save the world from He Who Remains as it branches out as he can’t allow TVA to fall. Talking about its plot, season 2 revolves around the complicated fabric of space-time and the multiverse, which is polished aesthetically to make Loki 2 a visual spectacle. Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have made the narrative pacy and made sure that the viewers are hooked to the show till the last frame. At some places, you will feel that the show is dealing with one thing at a time but in the very next frame, you will witness too many scenarios happening in the same dimension, which makes Loki 2 even more mind-bending. Coming to performances, Tom Hiddleston smoothly slides back into the persona of Loki and once again creates magic with his charismatic charm and indescribable aura. Owen Wilson as Morbius is one of the major highlights of the show, his camaraderie with Tom takes the show to another level. We needed more of Sophia De Martino as Slyvie being a crucial part of the ensemble. Jonathan Majors, as a new Kang Variant, has a good presence but went overboard in some of the scenes. Ke Huy Quan is the cutest addition to the show as he always makes you smile with his appearance. On the whole, Loki season 2 is binge-watch worthy and I cannot for the last two episodes, which promise to give an adrenaline rush. Loki season 2 will stream on Disney+ from October 6
