Linkin Park fans are in for a treat this year. The band unveiled their new single, ‘Heavy,’ from their new album ‘One More Light’ which is set to hit digital and physical shelves on 19 May. This will be the rap rock veterans first release after their 2014 album ‘The Hunting Party.’

The new track features guest vocals from Kiiara, who trades verses with Chester Bennington over a sparse pop groove of synths and rapt percussion.

Throughout ‘Heavy,’ the beat repeatedly drops out, but each time rebuilds towards Bennington and Kiiara’s final powerhouse chorus, packed with plenty of angst.

Linkin Park and Kiiara debuted ‘Heavy’ with a stripped-down performance on Facebook Live. During the stream, the band also performed ‘Crawling’ and ‘Burn It Down’ and discussed writing and recording ‘One More Light_’._

Speaking to Billboard about the forthcoming release, guitarist Mike Shinoda hinted that ‘Heavy’ reflected much of the tone of the new record.“One of the reasons why we chose ‘Heavy’ as the first single is because it is really the core sound of the album,” Shinoda said. “This wasn’t a scenario where the whole album sounds one way and the single sounds different. This is how the album sounds. So we wanted to go out with a song like that, where everybody can get a sense of the direction of this body of work.”

If ‘Heavy’ is indeed a reflection of the rest of the album; we can’t wait. The album premieres on 19 May:
