Prakash Raj, who has been impressing the audience with his acting and filmmaking skills, recalled a tough phase in his life when he lost his 5-year-old son Sidhu.
He was married to his ex-wife Lalitha Kumari at that time and spoke about how the grief consumed him at the funeral.
“Pain is a very personal thing whether it’s my friend Gauri (Gauri Lankesh) or my son Sidharth. But, then I just can’t become selfish. I have daughters, I have family, I have a profession, I have people. As a human being, I have a life and I am accountable for that too,” said Prakash at a event hosted by ABP.
He added, “I would rather share my joys than my pain because it eases the personal pain and I don’t want to brood on it. Some wounds are deeper than flesh and you need to live with that. I am human. It disturbs me, it hurts me, it feels very helpless. But then, let’s find reasons to live. Death is eventually there always.”
Last year, the Enforcement Directorate had summoned actor Prakash Raj for questioning in a money laundering case linked to an alleged Rs 100-crore ponzi and fraud case against a Tiruchirapalli-based jewellery group, official sources said Thursday.
The investigation pertained to a case against Pranav Jewellers, a partnership firm based in Tiruchirapalli, whom the ED raided on November 20 and claimed to have seized “unexplained” cash of Rs 23.70 lakh and some gold jewellery.
Raj, who has acted in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies, has been an outspoken critic of the BJP. He unsuccessfully contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Bengaluru Central seat.
The ED case stems from an FIR of the Tamil Nadu Police Economic Offences Wing.
