Kedarnath delayed: Sara Ali Khan might now make debut opposite Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty's Simmba

Sara Ali Khan's debut Kedarnath, in which the actor will be seen opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, has been stalled due to a legal face off between the film's producer Abhishek Kapoor and the producers KriArj Entertainment, Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor.

The Free Press Journal reports that Khan might make her debut with the Dharma Productions' Rohit Shetty directed Simmba starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

The same report states that Sridevi's daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, was previously considered to play the lead in the film. However, there is no official word on the leading lady yet. Khan was reportedly extremely focused on her debut and did not want to sign any other films until Kedarnath was complete, despite being given several offers. However with the delay of her film, it is being speculated that the actor has now started looking around and expressed her desire to work with Singh in the Rohit Shetty directorial.

Prernaa Arora was reportedly not okay with Kapoor's insistence on slating the release of Kedarnath on 21 December along with Shah Rukh Khan-Katrina Kaif-Anushka Sharma-starrer Zero. Arora is reportedly in talks with SRK for an upcoming project and hence did not want any clashes with the superstar at the box office. That is said to be one of the main reasons behind the spat and subsequent delay.
